G35 6MT Coupe at VIR Nov 9-10
Back at it again... this time in the rain.

Fast forward to the 5min mark for better action (and more rain).
Here's me following a Ferrari 360 for a bit:

Equipment:
'06 G35 6MT Coupe
Tires: All-Season Continental DWS
Brakes: Brembo slotted rotors, EBC Red Stuff (in the rain), EBC Yellow Stuff (when it dried up)
Mods: MREV2 + Spacer
Comments:
If you read my previous post bashing the EBC Red Stuff, I still stand behind it, but in the wet, nothing overheats and the pads did just fine. I swapped them out when it started drying up. Truth be told, I would have been running the Yellow Stuff the whole time, but I got to the track late and didnt have time to change pads, no worries, the rain kept them cool.
All Season tires... they are decent in all situations, not great in any. The guys that showed up with High Performance tires (expecting a dry day) were slow, even the AWD guys couldnt keep up. That story changed once the ground dried up the following day and I started getting pwned, but it was fun being King for a Day in the wet. Ideally I'd have 2 sets, a wet and dry, but I use my car as a daily driver and havent gotten that 2nd tire set yet.
Either way it was fun.

I highly recommend going to a track event at least once, its well worth it. The only set up you need is to make sure you've got a recent oil change and that your brake fluid is clear. You wont burn through your tires, the only thing you'll burn up are your front brake pads ($100) and gasoline (2-3 tanks for the weekend). The G35 is pretty easy to drive on the track too.
If I had my choice, I'd have a daily driver and a dedicated track car, but I dont so I compromised with a car that could fill both roles. Since I go to the track about 4-6 days a year, the other 360 I'm on the street and going to work so I chose to get more of a luxury sports car.

While I've never done a track day in a car (yet), I've done numerous track days on motorcycles. It really is an awesome experience. You learn so much more in 1 day on the track than you do 5-10 years riding/driving. And the things you learn pay dividends on the street because it makes you a safer driver. You come to realize just how how potential your machine has as well as your limitations and makes you so much more aware and in tune with your machine. Being more aware on the street is never a bad thing.
Bonus experience points if you track in the rain. I learned more on 1 track day in the rain than I did 2-3 dry track days. It's seriously amazing how much grip the right tires have in rain.

Probably not, but it's a good idea so you don't get rear ended. See the video, the mist is pretty large (especially at 100+ on straights), rather be safe than sorry. Rear fogs would have been best.
Wipers aren't required either, but they're still a good idea
