An IPL g37 is just a slightly modified g37 so a slightly modified g35 would apply in the same manner. Although I'm not saying I would badge up IPL.

I would go for the engine cover, but not for over double as the stock over for a plastic material.

I kinda feel what you are sayin on this as I know of people who do just cosmetics on let's say a 335i and add M3 parts to it.. but with that being said. if you do decide to put badges on non bagged platforms at least go the extra step and mod it to where the value holds up. If you buy a 335i swap out the 3.0 for the 4.0 then I'll have more respect for addin the M badge to your non-M car. Same goes for the IPL.. if your gonna add performance specs to the car then there should be no reason not to rock the IPL badge.

Agreed and in addition so far the IPL line is so close, performance wise, to a modified G I think it's less of a stretch to call a modded G IPL rather than say the example of a 328 badged M

I find it ridiculous that the only real performance stemming from power coming from the IPL g37 is a sports tuned IPL exhaust. This leaves a vague definition of what an IPL vehicle can be.

Well overall they must stay within standards of state law emissions, and whatever other B-crap restrictions they put on them to make US Specs and legal to sell. With other platforms you either see tweaked engine mods, suspension and brake upgrades. I take its since this is a new line of production its kinda like a trial to see where the market is for IPL

Putting an M3 badge on a modded, even HEAVILY modded, 328i or 335i is stupid. Regardless of what you say. A 1000hp 335i is still a 335i. An M3 is an M3. A modded 335i is a modded 335i. Same goes for IPL. A modded G37 is a modded G37. An IPL G37 is an IPL G37.

EDIT: Let me put it this way. If you put an M3 badge on a heavily modded 335i and someone asks you what kind of car you have, are you going to say 335i or M3?

I get your point and don't disagree. And years from now when the IPL is an iconic symbol of quality and performance within the Nissan family...I will concede completely. But I'll end with, the badge itself looks good, and subtle, and with performance levels achieved by the modded G's you could argue that we are performance Infiniti's as well.

Now where can I find my Datsun badging...

I have another thought towards this: What looks a lot better on the road and would make you feel better? A G35 that you modded to your tastes and specs? This would be a G35 that is probably faster than most and looks very clean. Or a G35 that is modded to your tastes and specs but has an IPL badge on the back? People who do not know Infinitis well might think you're driving a stock performance car. This means they would not notice that you put a lot of time and effort into your car. They would think that you went over to Infiniti and picked up a quick car. You wouldn't want that, would you?

If i had a 335I, heavy modified with a 4.0 OEM M3 swap.. and someone asks me what is it.. A heavy modded BMW 335 M. All i gotta do is pop the hood.. Enough respect.
