I do appreciate the thanks button... It's kind of like the "rep" button I was thinking about and gives you an opportunity to take information from certain people a bit more seriously than others.

I know some people are cranky about load times and so on... the way I figure it if a person doesn't want to ditch their 5 year old paperweight or upgrade to high speed internet to accommodate a little extra banner... well... boo hoo.

 

I can't recall any complaints that ended up being due to old computer or slow internet speed (I know the current computers and T-1 and fiber optic connectivity I use don't cause any problems on any other site - or this one when its running right)...

However, there are boatloads of users previously mentioning issues in this thread: https://g35driver.com/forums/g35driv...loooowwww.html and if you take the time to read it, you'll find that it almost always was a result of site issues.

I'm new to the site and curious about why I seem to lose points when I post something (I'm probably losing points for this, lol)? I don't really care about the points but seeing as I'm extremely bored at the moment, I was looking at my profile and noticed that I've lost points over the past few days and they all seem to coinside with posts that I've made. Just wondering...

More than likely, what you're seeing is a stupid bug (aka "feature") in the points system.

You get 10 points for "Final word". Basically the last post in a thread.

So when you post anywhere, since you're the last person to post, bam! Automatic 10 points... whether you actually ended the discussion or just made some useless post like "LOL" you get 10 points... until the next time that somebody posts in that thread, then your 10 points go away again because you're no longer the person who supposedly "ended the discussion"

So basically, you just get 10 points added and taken away all the freaking time.

 

All that crap does is turn normal posters in to post ****** trying to get their count up. Waste of space.
