Maybe I'm a little partial, but I've heard a lot of amps. McIntosh built these amps just like they do their home audio. With 100x4 with .0005 THD you'll be hard pressed to find a better sounding / performing amp.

It's 100x4 @ .0005 THD - 2/3/4 channel and it's 2ohm stable.

Diamond makes nice speakers but when the guy at the stereo store who is a Diamond authorized reseller says he won't put them in his car that says a lot. I run Diamond Hex speakers but not the amps. I was going to buy one but after the comment the shop owner made my mind was changed. My .02.

I love my McIntosh.Best sound quality I have heard. They are not high powered amps. They are not made for spl competition. If you enjoy high quality sounding mids & highs with tight bass, the Mac will do.I have a MC440 running 5 chanels.

Keep in mind your MC440 is only 50x4 on the mids and highs. The MC431 is 100x4 which can really make a good set of driver sing!

No, its not even a fair comparison. Especially with the downhill plumett DA has be taking the past few years. Go back when they used Esoteric designs, and it would be more fair, but Id still give it to the Mac.

^ Yes there is difference in power. It is about sound quality, not spl. This setup is plenty loud enough. Here are a few other pics.
