was looking at putting a pair on my sportbike... I saw where they put it on a Yamaha R1, plus a little light in the helmet to tell you when activated. Then had about 3 to 5 seconds to slow down before disarming (as it's a bit frowned on by California CHP)

that depends.

is it better at detecting X, K, or Ka bands? No. It doesn't do this.

is it better at detecting Laser? Maybe.

does it actually Jam the Cop's Laser detector? Yes!!

these jammers are meant to be installed and used in CONJUNCTION with traditional Radar Detectors, a la Valentine or Escort.

PS. CHP doesn't "frown" on it. they'll arrest you/fine you for it.

M20 and M40 are laser jammers so they have no point "detecting" X, K or Ka bands

It is better at detecting laser than traditional laser detectors like escort etc. I have both in my car and EVERYTIME i have been hit with a laser, my jammer led and beeper goes off before my escort.

Oh yes it sure does

If i had to choose between a laser jammer or radar detector and had cash for only one of these, I would pick up a jammer before any radar detector. I am in Georgia and 90% of the cops here use laser but it might be different in other states.

As you said about CHP - I have NO clue how they work their stuff so might as well figure it out before hand.

As far as the radar detector goes - if you are the only one on the road and you are in the radar's "range" then all that radar detector is going to tell you is that "Sir pull over you are screwed"

Yeah, there's not many states that allow jammers.... but at the speed I go on my sportbike sometimes, it's a toss up on getting busted for the jammer or the speed I'm actually going
