is this the navigation that you plug into the RedYellowWhite jacks?

^ Its for bypassing the factory navigation system, so that you're able to use it completely while moving without lockouts and you have to tap into the factory wiring harness.

I don't have navigation.. I don't even have the premium.. but will this allow me to watch movies while i drive? or is cutting wires the only way to do it?

If you can pair wires correctly and slder them together it's not difficult. It does take some time.
