My friend pre-ordered one of these kits from us but sold the car prior to these coming in from Japan. He no longer needs it, and it is brand new in the box, includes the AC controls and console.

stock controls WILL NOT FIT, you have to use the JDM ac controls along with this console, no way around it.

Does your advice still apply given that mine is a JDM vehicle (Nissan Skyline)? I googled the JDM kit and the controls look identical to mine??!!

 

Does your JDM skyline 350GT have a double din OEM head unit in it? some models were available with DD OEM units, hence the reason why nissan makes these kits in the first place.

If not, then yes you will need the AC controls as well.

the AC controls when installed look identical, but when you pull them out you'll notice that your OEM controls are actually buttons on a motherboard which is flat, and this motherboard runs behind the face of the radio etc as well, all AC and Radio functions are controlled on this motherboard. Once you replace the console and install the new DD unit, you cannot re-install the motherboard, so you cannot then control your AC unless you swap out to the once included in this kit....
