I bought this awhile ago from a G owner. I originally wanted to take a shot at reflashing my very early G sedan ecu. But it looks like it's not possible. (I'll have to send my ecu to Technosquare if I want any reflashing done which is a royal pain but I have no choice) I never even put the cd into laptop. You will have to have it relicensed for approx $50 and from what I understand, it will come with 1 std flash and I think one free email flash. I've confirmed in the turning forum that if a Z owner buys this, they can have the flash for their year Z vs the G as part of the relicense fee.
Not only do you get both at the price of just the reflash, you'll be getting the ability to scan/clear OBDII related trouble codes on your car and your friends (provided they have a G35/350z/Titan etc....). You can also have the ability to datalog your engine for referenc and for possible e-tunes later. Thus avoiding the need to pay for dyno time. Especially handy if your car is wideband 02 equipped (05+)

I encourage you to contact UpRev for exact details when you purchase these units "used". I did confirm with the previous seller that they reflashed their ecu to stock and unregistered it from their car 1st. This isn't just the Cipher, it's the Osiris and Cipher. Alot of guys here buy the reflash and decide they don't want the great OBDII nissan specialized diagnostics capability. They then just sell the cable and cd as a Cipher only. This is again both.
