are you for real? the jdm dd finisher plate does not come with the dual ac button. so you take it off the old ac controler and put it on the new one. the button lets you have heat blastin for your girl on her side and the ac coolin your *** down cause she has it so f...in hot in the car

Also, with the 05-07 boards, you also need to desolder and resolder the LED for the dual button if you want it to work. The LED is already on the board for 03-04.

These DIY's need to be stickied.
How is the 03-04 different? With the 03-04 don't you also need to de-solder a resistor as well?

Just to clear everything up, the only reason that you would have to do this MOD is because when you change out the HU the AC control is tired into the factory HU so you cant take it out and put it on the new kit. So there for you need to buy a new AC control. Metra makes everything built in but it only for 03-04 HU's and still doesnt come with the DUAL BOTTON. The aftermarket AC control from Metra and JDM dont come with the DUAL BOTTON so if you want that function you would have to take the DUAL BOTTON off the factory HU and put it on the aftermarket one as what Gilley is showing you in this DYI

this is a great write up... but im curious as to the LED on the old board? will this too transfer to the new board? I see a resistor and a led pad unpopulated? anyonyone know what transfers ot the resistor value of the missing location on the JDM board>???

Thanks for this great DIY, just had a quick question. I don't have a soldering iron & was thinking of buying this one to do this project, will this work?

Thanks for the writeup, I agree, that was definitely way overdue.

I'll be doing the same thing on an 03-04 board so it seems like I should definitely do a DIY on that as well... just in case there are some minor differences.

Also, make sure you use a static free surface if your going to work on electronics. Static = Death for Electronics.
