LOL! You are ignorant about radar detectors! Please do your research and learn!

Consider using Velcro to mount your detector on the dash or using the supplied windshield mounting brackets and mounting it low on the windshield. By mounting it this way, making sure that the windshield wipers are not blocking the front, you will draw the least amount of attention and obtain the best laser and radar detection.

Go to any radar detector site and read! You will learn something! I would also like to know which manufacturer recommends mounting high on the windshield?
dude, you don't get better reception with the detector mounted low. what don't you understand about this? you don't go and do everything an internet site tells you to do without thinking it out, do you?

i'm sure radar detector manufacturers want their customers to have the best experience with their product. they specifically advise mounting it high and relatively centered. i'm not going to argue this with you. you keep posting things referencing things that have nothing to do with detector performance.

There are a lot of info on radar/laser detectors on the web. Do some research!

• When properly mounted, the front antenna will look
forward through the glass. It must have an unobstructed
view. Don’t put it behind the parked windshield wipers,
or directly behind an in-glass antenna. Don’t position it
so that it "looks" into the rearview mirror.
• The rear antenna will look rearward, between
passengers and out the rear glass. It, too, must have an
unobstructed view.
Detector performance is enhanced by a high mounting
position. Two reasons. For radar, a longer sight line to
the horizon always helps. For laser, moving away from
the hood and its sun reflections helps a lot.

Buddy, go read radardetector.net and see for yourself where people mount them.

Only noobs with $50 Cobras mount them dead smack center in the middle of the windshield.

High is better for radar. Low is better for lidar. Lidar is typically aimed at the center mass/front license plate. The laser from the lidar guns is tightly focused. By having the radar up high, it may never catch the laser except for some refraction.

I have my 9500i (or V1 if the mood strikes me) mounted just left of my G's RVM, and a tad bit under the factory tint. Generally, if the 9500i or V1 pick up police lidar aimed at me, I am already toast. So I opt for a setup with better radar detection capability. I still get pretty good laser detection with the V1, even up high though (particularly from my own G35's laser sensor). I will probably eventually get some jammers/shifters, add Veil to my headlights, and Laser Shield to my plates.

LOL! Indeed. But mount is related to placement. So it's not a 100% hijack.

I've had this car for 3 days!

I want to hardwire my valentine 1.

Tapping into the mirror sounds ideal.

Please, point me in the right direction to get at the wires & which wires are which?

You & I are only miles apart. Perhaps, we can get in touch?

What do you think?

How'd you do that?

How did you access the wires?

Which wires are which?

Thank you.

If you want to tap into a powered RVM in your G35, you can use Stealth Cords. It works great and they have great customer service. Their website has a video instruction for the G35. Here's their link:

http://www.stealthcords.com/shop/

If you want to hardwire the V1 using the kit that came with the V1, you can tap into the fuse box under the steering wheel with an "Add a circuit."

http://www.radarbusters.com/radar-de...ddacircuit.cfm

After connecting the add-a-circuit to the appropriate fuse, just connect the red wire from the V1 direct wire kit to the add-a-circuit red line, ground the black wire from the direct wire kit, and then it's just a matter of hiding the lines under the headliner and down the A-pillar to the left of the windshield. I believe that there's a thread somewhere about this. You might want to do a search.
