Sirius Radio Problem.
Okay, I just got a add-on Sirius Radio installed and I'm really disappointed. I can't tell whether its the install or the just Sirius thats bad. From reading the other forums, I think it might be the install. So the installer used a FM Modulator to connect my unit. My problem is that I hear alot of annoying static and I lose signal alot. My antenna is mounted outside of the car on the top of where the rear-view window is, so I don't think thats the problem. Do you guys have any feedback on what I should do? I have to tell you, its almost unbearable because I get annoyed by static easily. If you guys see a problem, your help is greatly appreciated. And it would help if you guys have any suggestions on what I should tell the install guy to change. Thanks.
One last thing, I rate my quality of sound UNDER FM radio. Thats how bad it is.

I installed my own and it works great - CD quality. I would suggest your installer try plugging a different antenna into your receiver and just check the reception. It could just be a faulty antenna wire (damaged during installation?).
You should not be using a modulator at all. The Sirius radio should plug into the back of your factory head unit (if you have the SAT button). If you don't have the SAT button, you would need one of the other aftermarket components that let you split your CD input for multiple devices.

It sounds like your sat reception is fine; its digital so you get it or you don't. The problem is your FM modulator. You would need to hard wire your unit into the receiver to get good quality. 3/4 of the threads in this forum are about hard wiring aftermarket things into the receiver, and its unfortunately not easy. In short, you need a PAC AAI-NIS and you can take apart your dash or run a wire to the trunk. For satellite radio its often easier to just buy the OEM sat box and just pop it in the trunk.
