I wish we had an invisibility button

However, you could make a mute button without too much work. A switch and some relays on the audio outputs leaving the HU going to the stock amp (if you have bose).

I use the Power button on the steering wheel as a mute button for my DD head unit.

On the steering wheel controls, you have track up/down, volume up/down, Mode, PWR. PWR turned the stock deck off. I use that button to Attenuate I should say my aftermarket deck.
