i agree. if i get a flat tire i can always use the fix a flat can, and in the worst possible case where my tire get completey ripped off the car, i would call the road side assistance, regardless if i had the spare.

Thumbs up Mine's In!

My 500/5 was installed today. Apparently, the new ones have a black finish.

After my first listen in my car, I was thinking "WTF is the big deal with these amps?" I was honestly disappointed. Something HAD to be wrong. Right now, it is running a 10" Orion sub (and the requisite DLS components, of course), and I was thinking that it should be hitting so much harder.

Then I removed the black plastic cover and monkeyed around with the gains and crossover points. Now I'm thinking, "This is the big deal!"

Again, thanks for your help!

Glad to hear you're satisfied with the amp/sound quality. Got any pics?

I had to adjust the gains and crossover frequencies on my 500/5 from where the installer put them and vastly improved the sound.

Hey there.

I'll post some this weekend. I probably should have taken them last night when I already had the car apart.

My shop, Sound Advice in Mission Viejo, did an AMAZING job with the installation.

You have some options:

1. Get a daily beater. Remove spare tire from G and turn it into your showcar. Done.

2. Remove spare tire. Get runflat tires for your G.

3. Remove spare tire. Rely on Infiniti Roadside Assistance OR AAA to help you during flats.

4. Leave spare tire. Use upper deck (Where the 6x9s are). Remove the 6x9s and you can mount some amps up there. This is what I did.

5. Leave spare tire. You can also mount the amps on the seatbacks like some have done.

Good Luck!

I like the black finish. I assume that is an option. I know they have the regular aluminum and the upgrade to polished. But this is the first time I've seen the black cover. It looks good.

Have either of you had any overheating problems by placing the sub down in the storage area next to the spare? I'm curious how the sub holds up to being in that spot with the heat while being on for a while....

Here is another way to go. If you read the data sheet, it will not interfere with TPMS sensors. Same idea as Fix a Flat, but supposedly much better.
Tire Rack sells them. They could save a lot of room and weight.
