Not really, depends on how important audio is to you. For me, when I had my '01 Accord I was tired of having a 6 cu. ft. enclosure for my 18" just taking up the entire space, so i decided to mount my 5 amps in the spare tire well along with my H701 processor and redesign my enclosure to just under 3 cu. ft. Sure I was going to lose some low end, but with the increase in power, roughly 1,500w extra, it would make up for it...only reason why I went with the PDX amps.

Sadly, a few weeks after I was in the middle of my install I got a flat. Right now I'm debating of whether or not I want to do IB, false floor, or regular enclosure...I'm leaning towards false floor so I can have my entire trunk, plus a mini fridge in the trunk that will be accessible through the rear arm rest.

Some of you are acting like it is anything more than a minor design constraint to build an audio system around keeping a spare tire. There are already many people that have demonstrated that it's possible in this thread. It's not "SQ or spare tire." You can have both.

You can use a 4080 box and mount the amps on the back of the rear seat, on the other side of the box, etc. 4080 will provide all the SQ that most people will need. When it comes to the spare well, that's more for aesthetic reasons in my opinion. I gave up my spare tire in 2006, and only had to call triple A once since. My spare tire won't work anymore either since I got big brakes.
