Crappy Bose system info

I e-mailed Bose Tech support asking for info about the system.

Funny, the speakers are all "wide range" except for the tweeters...even the 6x9 in the rear deck. I was unaware that "wide range" speakers were considered "premium" especially with paper cones and foam surrounds, but I digress.

I just asked if there is a customization code accessible by the end user, to tweak the factory EQ setting (like in the Audi A6 Bose system). I'll let you know what they say.

paper coned wide ranged premium speakers, indeed.

I don't know if you have ever seen the door speakers or not but the cages are made completely of plastic and they have a ridiculously small magnet abount the diameter of a silver dollar and about 1/2" thick. Talk about pathetic. Not one bit of metal in the speaker except for the magnet and voice coil area. Maybe this is Bose's way of reducing weight for our premium cars.

Re: Crappy Bose system info

Well, Bose Tech rep says there are no hidden EQ routines in our radios.

Too bad. I'll have to pull this system out and install another one...dammit.

No more Bose for me, ever.

Nah, I'm keeping the head, but replacing everything else. I may be dumb, but I;m not stupid.

You got the car, AND you're getting a Xmas present!?

Man oh man....Once my wife approved the car I had to give up all gifts for 3 years (Xmas, b'day, anniversary, and valentines day too!)

what a lucky dog!
