Good place for an xbox in the cabin?
Good place for an xbox in the cabin?
Does anyone have any suggestions as to where I could install an XboX insinde the cabin. I want to hook one up after I get the nav tuner working and it would be a lot eaiser if it was inside the car and not in the trunk but I cant think of a good place for it. any ideas or experiances?
Re: Good place for an xbox in the cabin?
how's about modding it into the center console and double it as an armrest?

if you have the sedan, mount it in the trunk, but in a custom box allowing you to access it through the pass-thru slot behind the back arm rest?!

i would also be interested in were to place it. i was thinking about putting it in the trunk and mounting it above the pass though but im not sure how i would run the wires from back there and how i could get the controlers up there. i will jsut have one of my my friends who is good with this stuff do it for me. But how hard is it to run wires from the front to the back of the G coupe?
Re: Good place for an xbox in the cabin?
Mine is behind the driver's seat. I have the Xbox DVD remote and a 6 foot extention cable. The extention cable it used to run the remote IF eye, to the front dash. The remote does not have a "power" botton, so I have to reach back behind my seat to trun it on or reset it. I also have the power converter behind the seat. It needs to be turned on also. My Joypad is RF, so I did not have to run a second extention cable. I first tried to put the Xbox in the dash where the Nav DVD is but it did not fit, even if I moved the Nav DVD to the side.

Hey RashMan1450
Dou you have any pics of your install? It would be nice to canablize the xbox and custom install it but then I guess I would need a second Xbox and thats no fun. Oh the possibilities. and BTW I have a coupe so I dont like the trunk Idea. I need to figure something out but there is so little room. A Ps2 loos like it migh fit better in the nav cubby above the Glove box. I have nav so that out of hte picture.

The PS2 is cool because most of it is empty (the Expansion port). My friend was able to take it apart and install it into the center console of a Honda. If you take it apart, the CD drive and the computer can be stacked in will fit in a 5.5x4x5 inch enclosure. That will fit next to the stock Nav DVD.

I personally want to play GT4 when it comes out and drive at the same time. Ok maybe not the best idea but having video games and DVD's on the stock screen just has a certain coolness factor.

umm sorry i can upload any pictures becuase i dont have any. And anyways if i were to take pictures of it. you wouldnt be able to see the PS2 becasue it is hidden. Only thing you can notice is when you pop it out when you wanna load a disk. Look to get it installed in there. Way worth the Money

This is the PS2 motherboard pull completely out. The right side of the picture is the Front of the PS2 and the pen is 5 inches long.

Mine doesn't look like that, it's a lot bigger. My dreams are slowly fading away. At least I got the monitors in ok.
