changing a head unit

changing a head unit

does anyone know if changing my factory head unit will void my warrenty?

it is illegal for them to void ur warranty unless they can prove that by u changing to an aftermarket system, it messed up the car. even so if something goes wrong with ur stock suspension and all u have changed is ur head unit then they must cover it under warranty because the suspension is not affected by a stereo system. i hope that helped

but isn't the head unit soldered together with ac controll?

yes, hence the reason why ppl get the jdm double din plate and keep the same ac unit and get a new screen/headunit.

so i wont have to think about messing with the ac unit, if i purchase this plate?

also where can i buy it from for a 2006

i spoke to the people at grubbs performance and they said i would have to purchase an entire new ac controller is this true?

the plate he is referring to is the AC controller grubbs is referring two. Different names, same piece. Read the sticky at the top of the forum about the 05 double din kit, it's the same kit for the 06, it answers all your questions,
