I have personally read through the entire double din sticky to make sure that all info anyone could need is in there, and it is. Also, within the past week, this question has been asked and generously answered outside of the sticky.

congrats on getting that pioneer unit, same one I want to get!

AC button color

I'm ready to make the double din conversion. I've seen that the AC controller from Grubbs has black buttons. I have the willow interior. Is it possible to simply exchange the buttons onto the new control? I know I'll have to solder to retain the dual climate control function.

you MUST buy the A/C controls unless you don't want any A/C or Heating in your car lol.

You don't "need" the bracket but you will probably need to drill new holes in your existing bracket.

GL and in future read other threads. there is not just 1 double din thread there are hundreds.

/EDIT

You can move the willow buttons onto the new A/C controls but it is very tedious and delicate work, if you are Japanese and have nice little hands might be easier for you

question, do you lose the features of dual climate control with the double-DIN switch? I notice the "Dual" button is blank on your swapped AC controls.

man if you have dual climate control you can transfer the button from your old controls to the new ones but this requires some minor saudering, I am sure your installer can do it if you can't.

otherwise you lose the DCC.
