Quote: i don't have a screen name because I am not on AOL.

i will be impressed, you must know some secret the rest of us have never heard of if you can do that.
It sure doesn't sound like you knew what i meant.

you want to know what my secret is? G35driver.com

I learned from the members on this board. Real members who (unlike you) know what they are doing.

https://g35driver.com/forums/audio-video-electronics-diy/90507-diy-06-hu-removall.html

Now back to my question...are you willing to change your user name to BigAss? Cuz i will put a video up showing you how quick and easy it is to remove the radio on my G. I will hold up my end of the bargain if you hold up yours.

edit: sorry BadBread for going off tangent on your thread, but BigSash really needs to learn not to start calling people asses and liars if he hasn't done any of the work himself.

WTF are you talking about? I have taken my Dash apart many times. I have pictures and threads posted here to prove it, installing my ipod controller, HU, painting center console pieces, etc.

so post your video and back up your ridiculous claim of being able to take the dash apart in 2minutes.

I am not changing my username, and I promise you other people here agree that you are making ridiculous claims of being able to remove the HU in 2minutes.

Quote: lol, ok n00b, since it's so easy for you why don't you make a quick video clip of you doing it in 3 minutes, i am sure many G owners would be very impressed by your technique as every1 else around here finds it quite tedious to do.

Quote: I've worked on the radio in my car and have taken it apart several times. I can take out the radio in my G in less than two minutes. at first it took me a while, but if you know what you're doing, it can be done really quickly.
It was 2 minutes, sorry I said 3 before. he said 2. guy must be the best installer in the world.

So BigMouth, if i do prove you wrong, I know you won't change your user name (probably didn't want to take the bet because you know I can), so will you at least be a man and admit you're wrong? or will you just keep going on saying i'm a Bull$#!tter? Cuz once i post that video, i'm done arguing with you.

Here you go buddy! 3 minutes and the radio is as good as gone. I know i said two minutes in my post, but hey its not like i pulled out a stop watch and timed myself.

I didn't pull out the radio because i didn't feel like shoving everything back in there. But at the end of the video where i slightly pulled out the HU, all you have to do is unplug the harnesses in the back and the radio is completely detached from the car. and NO, it doesn't take 10 minutes to unplug a harness.

Could of been faster, but it was hot and i didn't feel like scratching the interior of my car by moving around so quickly. so i'd like to recap what i said earlier "if you know what you are doing, then it can be done pretty quickly."

And remember...i did say MY CAR...meaning the 06 G35 COUPE 6MT. I don't have any other kind of G35, nor have i worked on any other ones. so if people say that it takes 15 minutes to take apart the dash on a sedan, then i believe them...cuz i never worked on one b4.

BigSash, or should i say BigASS, here must think that all G35 are the same, so ASSumes the every G35 out there takes just as long to disASSemble the dash as his G35 Sedan. I've got some advice for you...do some research b4 you open your fat *** mouth and start calling people asses and liars.

Would it kill you to be considerate to others and ask how they can do it b4 you bluntly ASSume that they are lying? i hope you are just some young punk *** teenager, who has no manners and goes off accusing people of being liars...cuz if you're not a teenager, and you are some 30-60 year old man, i feel sorry for you cuz you're still acting like a teenager at that age....sad.

in the end buddy, you're the only *** i see here.

Noob...I'd like to re-welcome you to G35driver.com (scroll down to post #2)

Game, Set, and Match

I say good day to you sir!

P.S. i'll be waiting for you to praise me.

Ok so where is the link to the video? I could do it in 10 minutes, but 2 or 3 is really pushing it.

Dang, what's with all the hostility? I'm not taking any sides here but I'll agree with Yume at least with regards to the time frame. I've got an '06 6MT coupe and had the head unit out many times already. No doubt I can have it out in 2 minutes with only a #2 Phillips. From what I understand, the changes made from '03/'04 to '05/'06 make it much easier to take out the HU.

u know what u should do? u should just make a video guide on how to remove everything step by step for ppl who dont know how. I mean your video shows it but its hard to see anything and you're blocking most of the view anyways. Im sure your video will be super helpful for those looking to change the HU on their own. Too bad you dont have an 04 otherwise i could benefit from this too.

Thank you for verifying that fact k67p67.

I can, but only if there is a demand for it. IMO, it isn't really necessary since the 06 6mt coupe is fairly easy to disassemble.

Huh I've never timed myself, but yeah thats how u do it. Good job. Also the 03-04 requires a couple extra screws to where you have to get under the dash on both sides of the HU. Nice anyway.

Quote: you obviously don't have an 03-04 model which is much harder to remove, even the world's best expert would be hard pressed to do it in less than 15 minutes.
For the record, this was my first response to your claim of taking apart the dash so quickly.

I explicitly stated that the 03-04 could not be done that quickly.

Either way good job.
