Re: who all wants double din?

He mentioned that it might be possible. hell, anything is possible. I'm willing to bet I could get it to work, I have plenty of electronic tools here at the office.

Re: who all wants double din?

some answers to some of these questions.

1. Colors- Titanium Yes, Black Yes, Brown Maybe-still looking

2. Canada- Dont see why not.

3. Purpose- Aftermarket good!, Bose bad!

4. AC problems?-kit includes new ac controller.

5. Dual Zone- No, unless you are VERY good @ soldering, but I would go ahead and buy another AC controller if I were you. hint-hint

6. Nav- Dont know, probably more difficult, I dont have Nav, also the bracket is different but dont worry I got all the part #s.

7. Price- 350$, includes dash for 60$, ac controller for 200$ pocket and blank about 10$ each, metal bracket for 32$ (optional), shipping about 40$.

8. Anymore questions?

Re: who all wants double din?

well on my (everybodys) factory ac circuitboard there are very small contact switches under each button, they about this size and they look like this----> [o], now on the new board there is an empty spot that even has "DUAL" printed next to it, you might be able to remove the old switch and solder it on he new board, and it just might work, i hope whoever tries it has good luck.

Re: who all wants double din?

Ok, I am committed to the $350 deal. What's the timeline for this, and how is the purchase going to work?

Re: who all wants double din?

Hate to keep adding questions, but here's one anyway.
Why a new climate controller? I have single zone controls and no Bose upgrade. My switch assembley looks just like the one pictured in the install kit.
Which leads me to ask why is it needed?

Re: who all wants double din?

The board could have "dual" printed on it, but that doesn't mean that the actual circuit traces are there. I'd have to see one close up with the buttons removed. Tig if you want to send me yours I'd take a look at it for you, but I doubt you'd be wanting to rip your dash apart again.. heh

Re: who all wants double din?

Your 'switch assembly' is on the same circuit board as your stereo, regardless if it's bose or not.. hence the need for a completely seperated climate controls board.

Re: who all wants double din?

I don't think there's an actual different in the base and Bose head units, even if there is, the "Bose" head unit is also made by Clarion, just like the base unit. It's the amp and speakers that are actually Bose products.
