any1 run fresh speaker wires into doors?
any1 run fresh speaker wires into doors?
Just a copy of my post on freshalloy, posting again here for more eyes...
All these tweeter installs say to just cut the wires the bose system uses and use those to carry the signal from the amp (stock or aftermarket) to the new speakers. Just wondering if anyone's been **** enough to run a new set a wires through, and if they had to drill some more holes cause there's no space in the current rubber grommet.
I did that on my last car, and it was a pain! This time I'm paying an installer to do it, and they say there's no space in the grommet and they need to drill some holes to get the new speaker wire through. Anyone else run into this dilemma?
thanks,
-Jon

Re: any1 run fresh speaker wires into doors?
i don't think you have to drill. i had installed my alarm in mines and had to run wires in the door for the door locks. there is an extra grommet that is unused on the chassis side. just slice a small hole for the wire to come out of the door grommet and fish the wire throught the plastic connector.

theres an extra grommet on passenger side.
on drivers side, there's nothing, you'll have to fish it thru the rubber flex loom or drill a new hole. it was a pain. my skin on my knuckles still has not grown back. may i suggest paying a professional to do it.
