low vin 03 ipod connection?

I have been searching this site for weeks on an Ipod hookup for my low vin 2003 coupe. I ended up buying something from mp3yourcar.com and brought it to a local reputable place, they ripped everything apart, installed it and it did not work...it connects to my ipod but no sound or anyhting....complete waste of $200 and the install cost. The shop carries USA Spec and called them and they said they make nothing for the 03 g35 coupes. Im just getting so frustrated b.c i want to directly connect to my HU and ive had nothing but problems...i just need someone who can give me a yes or no answer on if it can be done and how...i dont need links to other threads b.c ive searched everywhere and noone really speaks of 03s. thanks in advance for any help.

on the 3 years i have been on here, i don't think i have seen anyone who directly connected an ipod or other device directly to the head unit of an early build 03.

Did you happen to notice if the back of that head unit has on open connector for cd changer/sat on it?

If you have a pic of what the back of it looks like that might help...or even the front so people know what head unit you are talking about. Most people don't even know there was an early 03 deck with no sat button.

If not you might look at trying to do a swap out to the later build 03 head unit that has the sat button and connector for the sat radio....i know the PAC audio connector will def work with your ipod with that head unit. Maybe you could get one cheap from someone who did a double din.... just a thought.

if your head unit looks like this one, this DIY with the PAC unit will work to connect your ipod:

if not, post up a picture of what your head unit looks like

i guess not, its got an SAT button and its a low vin...it was the first one delivered in NJ. Thats what my headunit looks like, mp3yourcar.com said they have never had a problem with my year and the adapter they sell...kinda weird.
