Re: double din info

limeg35--- once you remove the radio and ac board, you plug the new ac board back into the same factory harness in the dash. you can see my pics in the other post

Re: double din info

let me break it down:

factory system----a wire harness comes from the dash and goes to the ac board, and then there are 4 that go to the radio.

new system, with new ac board----now you have the harness (that was going to the factory ac board) and plug it into the new ac board. the 4 other harnesses that used to go to the radio, dont go anywhere anymore.

this system doesnt change anything, the new ac board is still plugged into the same harness. i dont know how to explain it any other way, its really not difficult. the ac board WAS connected to the circuit board but that is all removed since you are installing a new deck, the ac board isnt really "connected" to the radio.

Re: double din info

It's made by Rosen. It's a double din 6.5" A/V system that will play DVD's, tune in TV statoins, mp3 encoded cd's, audio cd's, just about everything you can think of but I don't think it does XM, which I don't like anyway (have an mp3 player). I think they're working on a navigation unit that interfaces with it as well.

I checked out that Rosen unit, pretty cool to say the least. How is the sound quality? If it fits perfectly and sounds good, I may look into getting one. The price is definitely right.

Re: double din info

I will definatly give reviews here once I get it installed. I'm getting a killer deal on it, found a place that has silver faced ones instead of black. Should get it this week sometime, i'll hook 12v to it just to see it light up and give a review on teh interface.

Re: double din info

Hey, did anyone put together a group buy for this? I can't stand the crappy Bose anymore. If not what's the best way to get all the right stuff ordered? Sorry for the lack of searching.

Re: double din info

Update... I got the rosen headunit. ( still no dash kit, but only been a few days hehe) I didn't like the quality of it. First, it didn't have seperate sub outputs like I had asked them. Second, it woudln't allow me to mix and match audio/video sources.. Example. I want the tv tuner on, but i want to be listening to my mp3 player from the other aux input... When playing an audio cd, it would just show a black screen with the track number real small on the top... i mean this would be cool deck for someone that wanted to just watch dvd's all the time, but not souce switching like I like. So I took it back. I'm doing research now for another cool device..maybe importing an eclipse double din... expensive tho
