Question on Audio performance
Here is the set up I am thinking about.
1 12" JL W6v2 with a 1000/1 JL amp to push
1 set of 6 1/2 MB quart components in the front
1 set of MB quart 6/9 in the back
Not sure what amp yet.
Now if I get all this installed is it realistic to stay with the Bose headunit or do I have to get an aftermarket? I dont really want to mess up the look of the dash. Also, shoudl I expect alot of improvement over the stock bose speakers?

First off, you do know that you have both a set of 6.5's and a set of 6x9's in the rear, right?? The 6x9's are the "subs" that Bose puts into the coupe.
The 12W6 with the 1000/1 will definately be enough bass for the car (I would even say too much but that is personal preference).
What you need to watch out for in replacing the stock speakers is impedence matching. The Bose speakers are 2 ohm whereas your MB Quart components are 4 ohm. That means if you push them with the stock HU and amp you will get less output.
I suggest a little more research on this forum before you go ahead and get the stuff. Look into the 4080 box and some 2 ohm speakers to replace stock.

Ok, so basically I should just go with 2 set of 6.5s then since I'm adding a sub? As for the ohms, I will be replacing the stock amp with a 4 channel amp, does that solve that problem? I had MB Quarts in a previous vehicle and absolutely loved them. As long as I dont have to mess with the head unit Im happy, if i do then Ill just stick with the sub and leave the rest stock.
