Ipod install on 04 G35 Coupe w/ Bose w/o Nav

Hi guys. I've dug through several threads on the IPOD installations. While there is a ton of information there I didn't find anything specific to the 04 g35 coupe 6MT w/ bose system and no navigation.

I'd like to integrate my 60 GB video ipod, and control everything from the steering wheel controls. I'd also like to keep the option to add a satellite radio down the road if possible. I've seen the posts with the PAC module and also some others. Just trying to figure out the best road to go down.

Also I'm pretty bad when it comes to fixing things myself so if anyone can recommend somewhere to get this installed in the san diego area that would be appreciated.

Thanks.
Treyy

or make it simple and use the ipod cassette adaptor? no mess, no work, can take it out anytime. but no steering wheel controls.

I currently use a cassette adapter and don't like it very much. I will look into the pa11-nis. Will I still be able to plug in a satellite radio if I use that?

FYI iPod integratation is the same for any Satillite Pre-wired G35 2003-2006.

There's a new pa11-nis unit out now that allows some form of dual sat and ipod integration. The orginal ones only allowed an one external source (like an ipod)

i dont believe you can with the usa spec one. I have the same options as you (04 coupe 6mt w/bose w/o nav) and i got the usa spec product and it works great for me since it charges and allows me to use the steering wheel controls since i dont plan on getting sat radio. If you plan on getting sat radio it wont just plug right into the usa spec. (it only has a additional rca plugs for left/right audio).

Could you guys let me know what I'd gaining by going with the USAspec vs the PAII-NIS? Obviously what I would lose would be the ability to plug in a sat radio down the road. I'm sure there are some advantages to the USAspec that I am unaware of.

Is it possible to skip on the controller and directly hook up the ipod to RCA inputs in the back of the radio? I have the stock (not Bose) system. You would have to select songs with the ipod but would this work??

yea - but you lose steering wheel control and the auto charging feature that the pa11 supplies. also, you should know that the output of the ipod should come from the docking cable and not a headphones to rca adapter because of the differences in impedance/level...
