Pioneer Avic Z-1 06 install

Hey guys, I'm planning on buying a pioneer avic z-1. I have 06 g35 AT coupe, all standard.

Im going to have someone else isntall it and wanted to make sure I have everything I need in regards to dash kit / mods. So far I've found this...

Do I need anything else to make this fit? I heard that because it is an 06 I DONT need the DD bracket...

...is that true?

I'm also planning on installing the IPOD adapter and the unit which allows me to keep my steering wheel controls (forgot what that's called). If someone could confirm that all I need is the DD finisher that would be great. Also if anyone knows a trustworthy place to do the install around Culver City CA that would be helpful. If not Circuit City will have to do. Thanks guys...

i've heard you DONT need the bracket, but if u wanna keep the dual climate u gotta fork over the 200+ thingy for the AC controller. Oh the ipod thing is the USA-spec NA11-PIS. Just got mine couple days ago, good luck!

Climate control is built into the head unit, regardless of dual zone or not.

You MUST buy the replacement

IF you have dual zone, you will need to modify the new controler by taking the dual button off the origional and soldering it in place.

G35Mass is correct... behind the stock dash cover, the stock radio and A/C controller are all on the same circuit board.... you WILL need the new A/C controller either way.

I figured i wouldn't make a new thread for this question. But clarification on the issue would be great. For an 06 G35....do you or do you not need the DD bracket. I understand the need for the A/C controlller, and DD finisher, but is the bracket necessary? Also, I live in Houston and was wondering if anyone had any insight on a good place to go for the install. I'm going to order all the parts....just need the installation.

the bracket is not necessary at all, you might have to drill holes in the existing bracket to get the unit to be flush, but it is not a big deal
