HEY guys i need some quick help and for some reason the search button does not work on the site...y u ask...i dunno....but anyway

im having a installer do my double din eclipse navi install...now not too many people are doing this do to difficulty....he is trying to do it without the jdm dash pieces to make it more affordable for g drivers....i agreed to be test victim for the rest of the g world...lol...im not too sure of the 100% of what he had done so far...alls i know hes been soldering and wiring...he is doin it as he has time on the side to figure it out...

so the question really is...has anyone pretty much duplicated this without the JDM pieces??? thanks in advance

I though about doing the same but getting the DD conversion kit is easier, faster and cheaper. Also will not void any warranties.

dd conversion with jdm ac controls is over $400...the main thing is he wants to produce a harness or a kit that is much cheaper...and also something that can be sold on hand instead of waiting...nobody has the kit around my area except 1 place....and tyhey are tryin 2 bang me out for $600....and that wont happen...lol...it seems like no one changed the 05 radios here they jsut put the flip outs in the cubby hole on top....and i dont really wanna do that..

any more help wopuld be greatly appreciated......thanks

I changed the HU on my 05 and ordered it from yosi for about $400 it took about a week to order and recieve. I tried do what you are trying to do but all the shops by me won't do it because it's too hard and time consuming.

The thing is that the head unit and a/c controls are all mounted together, but on the jdm pieces they are separate. thats the whole big deal about the dash swap...

I thought the circuit board for the HU and the AC controls are one piece, making it impossible to separate them. This is why you need the most expensive part of the DD kit (the JDM AC controls).
