Re: Has anyone attempted to take out the ashtray?

hey, is that a new sony hu?

you definitely need to think about what you want out of your mod. the double-din/console replacement would probably be easiest and cleanest.

I can't think of any reason you would want both units hooked up anyway... and you won't be able use your steering wheel controls for your mp3 player, which you want to be using anyway...

I would do either the double din or do something with the space where the navi would be.

Does anyone know the brand name of the LCD monitor in the first photo of this series of posts? I really like the installation and would like to do the same but I can't find anything with the search function. When I measured that area on the console, I come up with a maximum size of approximatly 3.5" by 6.5". There aren't too many monitors out there that will fit.

V1 mirror mod

How did they do that? AND isn't the mirror now blocking one of the antennas?

Re: V1 mirror mod

I dont know how they did it, but it is only the remote control placed on the rearview mirror, you still need the V1 unit. This mirror mod costs $200, which is way better than the $1000 I've seen it go for on eBay. But you would have to find a place where to put your V1 unit so it is stealth. Stealth been kind of necessary in Virginia where radar detectors are illegal.

Hi Guys (& Gals),

I'm still trying to find a monitor to fit this lower console position. Does anyone know the brand name of the LCD monitor pictured above?

Your Bose head unit is made by Clarion, or so I am told by the people from whom I purchased the XM radio. It clearly indicated that it was made by Clarion. They have a very frustrating corporate policy of refusing to discuss any technical issues with their products by endusers. Technicians or distributors only, not customers.
