help with bluetooth install

I just bought one of the Motorola bluetooth hands free kits. The 850 model. What wire do I connect the mute to on the Blose HU to get it to mute when a call comes in?

The Bose doesn't have a mute wire. I'm sure there is a way of making a mute, but I'm not sure what it is

I installed the bluetooth on my friends 03 passat w8 and we ran into the same problem. However, his head unit had a place for the mute wire to go, just no wire to splice into. We had to take a wire and a metal connection bought at Radio Shack to connect it to the HU.

However, for the G, you are going to have a little bit of a harder time. I don't remember how to do it, but when I was going to install it on my 05 G35 coupe, I did some research on this forum. I don't remember exactly what to do, but there as a thread which talked about needing to make a bypass wire of some sort to work for out HU. Also, it talked about needing to convert the amount of power going to the bluetooth.

My suggestions, have a professional install it. It is not as easy to install on the G as it is on other cars. OR.... check the forum, there is a thread somewhere on it.

Alternatively, you can build a relay setup to shut off power for the Bose amp. I think the handsfree kit grounds the mute wire when enabled, so you'd need to stick a relay on that, then another relay (normally closed) on the power for the Bose amp.

Use at your own risk and all that, but it can be done.
