*LOUD* Navigation DVD-reader
Just about to touch 5k miles on my G and I use my nav about 24-7 when driving.
More recently (past 500-1000 miles), I have noticed the reader to be very loud. Specifically, think of it when you pop in a CD and go track to #12 (for instance) before the CD even plays...You hear the little laser moving to the track. Well, even at 80mph, with my stereo at 10-ish (volume), I can hear this reader.
I have pressed "Zoom Out" as I thought by being "Zoomed In" and doing 80mph, the little marker on my screen was moving too fast, hence putting extra wear on the system.
So, there are no performance problems, just a very loud reader...Should I be concerned? Is this common? Thoughts?
Thanks in advance.

The DVD for the Navi and the CD player are separate. What you are hearing is your CD player which is normal. I dont think I ever heard my Navi reading plus the buffer is large enough that it doesnt read all the time.
Wow you drive with your stereo @ 10.......Mine never goes below 20...might wanna try that
