Viper 791XV won't respond...

Hey all, I've had this alarm on my car for quite awhile now and it's been working fine. But today, after work walking out to my car, I tried to remote start my car, but my 2-way pager just made the beeping sounds it usually makes when it's non-responsive. So I got up close to my car and tried to unlock it, but failed...no response...so I unlocked the door manually with my key and tried to start the car...nothing. It seemed like the battery just died...weird. So I had my car jump started and drove it home. Turned off the car, waited for a good hour or so and checked the battery voltage level with a meter...it read 12.58V as it should (I actually upgraded to a Duralast battery a long time ago after getting my sub/amp combo installed). The thing is now, that the OEM FOB works perfectly fine with my car, but my Viper alarm is totally non-responsive. Has anyone with this alarm experienced this? Is there a quick fix/check I should do? Or should I just take it back to my installer? Thanks for any response.

change the batteries in your viper alarm 2-way pager thing.

I had this alarm on a previous car, I had to have the remote replaced like 3 times under warranty in less than a year! First try replacing the battery, if that doesn't work you might have to get a new remote.

Yeah...I tried to change the battery...but it didn't work. I'll go ahead and have my installer take a look at it and hopefully replace my remote.

If it completely doesn't respond, it may be:
1) need new remote
2) need to reprogram current remote
3) wire came loose/got disconeccted on the alarm brain.
Sorry if I spelled anything wrong. I am running off 30 minutes of sleep and have a full day ahead of me.

My installer said that they probably just need to reprogram the remote. But he can't do it till next week. Does anyone know if this "reprogramming" is easy, and if so, can I do it? Would I need any special equipment or anything? Thanks.
