Installed an amp under the F/R seat. Installer took the seat out and started the
car. $99 bucks at the dealership to reset the airbag controller (installer will cover).
Dealership said that the key in ACC position will not cause a trouble code to
be stored. On or Run will.

Yep this happen to me on my BMW. I was installing an amp and had rear seat out. I turned the ignition to ACC and the SRS light went on. Later I found out, this is due to the SRS sensor was located under the rear seat.

Wow. Didn't know that. I had both of my seats out last week but luckily didn't start the car. Thanks.

no, that was while installing a new shift ****. I think it was determined that an airbag sensor/wiring is in the area of the shift **** or something.

I'm the one with the airbag issue. Don't pay the dealer to reset you car, it is described somewhere on this forum or freshalloy how to do it with just turning the key on and off in a certain sequence. I did it after the airbag was replaced and it worked like a charm. Just do a search, because I don't remember what it was now.
