Re: Cellular Handsfree

AirWarrior,

Did you install your Cellport yourself? Does it function through the car's speakers, or did you install the Cellport speaker unit? If the latter, where the heck did you install it?

Also, how about the mute function? I know that Cellport supports it, but it requires integrating somehow into the G's audio system.

Re: Cellular Handsfree

Does the kit use the Bose speakers or do you have to use the speaker with the kit? If you use the speaker in the kit, how does it sound? Does the advance muting kit work with the HU in G35?

Thanks

Re: Cellular Handsfree

I bought about 100 of my handsfree kits from Staples.
Let me know if you want one, I can ship via Fed Ex to anywhere in the US.

Re: Cellular Handsfree

I want one of those except I would build a fiberglass holder for that and my mini disc player. I would also install and LED light so everytime the phone rings the led blinks. Any idea on when that adapter is coming out so we can plug in 3rd party players to our SAT button?

Thanks - Joey Avino

Re: Cellular Handsfree

hands down, best kit i have ever seen in my whole entire life!!!!

heheheh

I recently purchase a bluetooth headdset, ericsson hbh 65. I am currently using sony ericsson p800. It's not a car kit but a handsfree headset with bluetooth. Hope it work out. California will soon ban the usage of cell phone while driving. It's okay to use if you have handsfree kit.

Re: Cellular Handsfree

Hellooo,

Sorry i didn't post earlier.. i forgot to check back to this forum.
Anyways, in reference to CELLPORT. No i didn't do the installation, it was done at an audio shop in NY (long island, NY) for a couple 100...

This isn't wired into the G's audio system, rather there is a speaker box located above the passengers feet, hidden under the glove compartment... stealthy...have to look for it with your head upside down to see it...

The mic ends up being right where your sun visor is, but to the right and is very well hidden, no wires showing, flows right through and out of your "rear view mirror" socket.

The phone pocket and holster itself is located to the right of the ashtray/hazard light. the wires are hidden and none of them are cut into the system so the quality is excellent.

I don't know about the mute function, not familiar with it... but as far as "integrating into the G's audio system" i guess it's possible (?) but you don't need to, TRUST ME...that little speaker box hidden where the passengers feet are is LOUD enough.. it's crystal clear and if you want you can call me on it 909-717-7317 hopefully i'll be in my car when i get your call if you call.

Re: Cellular Handsfree

That's an interesting idea to mount the speaker under the glove box! Without your experience, I would have assumed that the volume would be inadequate there. But now I may give it a try. It certainly is out of the way there, and the only other place I've identified is just above the driver's right knee (and I'm concerned about interference there).
