Anyone ever lost sound on one whole side?

This morning, on the way to work, I lost sound on all left speakers. Anyone ever had this problem before? Is it something I can look into myself, or will this require yet another trip to the dealer?

Re: Lost Sound

I did once, and it came on and off when I hit bumps. Try that and if it comes on and off you need a new CD player. The wires inside it must be real loose. I got a new CD player and all is good.

I had this same exact problem in my 04 sedan. The Dealer had to replace the Head unit. Hasn't happened since.

It happens sometimes, but only when playing burned CDs. The dealer offered to change the headunit, but I never followed up. He said their genuine cds play fine. And actually when I do notice it, I switch to the radio and all speakers sound fine. See if that's the case with you.

Yeah, I lost the sound when I hit a little bump on the highway.

I didn't think of changing the source (i.e. SAT, FM, etc.)...
I attributed the problem to the amp, didn't think it was a source problem (CD).

the thing is that this is already the second head unit. The first one was replaced after it started skipping on CDs.

I love the car, it looks awesome, drives great, but the fcking thing has $hitty electronics.

Mine does the same thing with burnt CD's, it cuts out and then comes back, never ever happens on originals.

Had it happen to me a few times.. Did it only happen when you were in CD mode? And worked in AM/FM mode? This is what happened to mine, and the dealership had to replace the headunit. It was caused by a lose faulty output connection. The Clarion headunits suck. I've had the headunit replaced 3 times for the same problem.

I'm not kidding....give the side of the headunit a good bump with your hand. It may take a few hits, but it will work. That's just a short time fix... Eventually, go to the dealer and have it replaced. I'm on my 3rd.

Yes, only with CDs.

I've scheduled a service appt. to have the headunit replaced - this will be the third headunit for me.
