alternator noise

I am getting some static from the stock speakers from all sources after installing an Alpine IVA-200. I did not follow my usual procedure of grounding my head unit to the vehicle chassis as i did not see a good ground spot readily available so i used the Ground from the wire harness. Anyone else had any problems with this? The wire on the harness is marked amp ground. Also does anyone have any feedback on a good ground spot on an 04 coupe 6spd?

thanks

I'd either use a thicker cable and find some place to send it to. I had that problem with my 03 Sedan. But, I didn't change out the HU. I added 2 amps. The one amp powering the door speakers had that whine and pop when i turned the car off. I think the installers just redid the grounding to a better spot and it went away. I just need a capacitor now, so I don't kill my car. Its sucking power like crazy when I turn it up
