'05 Double DIN conversion A/C control?

Is it necessary to buy the double din A/C control? If so, y?

Yes it is. The US AC control circuit board is built into the stock radio. The Japanese AC controller is a stand alone.

Yes it is necessary. The stock a/c controller is on the same board as the stock head unit. If you change the headunit, you need to also change the a/c controller.
