JL audio subs

Assuming I would get these for the same price which would you guys prefer (sealed) 2 JL 10W7's or 2 JL 12 W6v2's? They would be running off a JL 1000/1 amp.

Then I retract my previous statement...go with the 10w7. It will hit pretty hard and you can lay the rear seat down to get better performance. The 12s are good but I think the 10 will give you some serious bass without eating up all the trunk. You won't need the 1000/1, the 500/1 should handle the load.

What are you going to do for the rest of the speakers?

one W7 = 2 12W6!!! The W7 is one serious sub!!! Not even comparable to the W3's or W6's!!

1 10W7 = 2 12W6V2's are you sure?

And I was thinking about getting 2 10W7's not 1

I am only going to put components in the front I was thinking about getting Polk MMC6500's. I am then going to take the back speakers out.

you should go to your nearest audio place around your town and have them let you hear them both. I've personally have listened to both, and most people i know just use (1) JLW7, maybe the 12 in. but the 12in. def. kicks even (2) W3 or W6's ***!!

definitely go with the (2) 10w7s. I thought you were asking (1) 10w7 vs. (2) 12w6s to begin with. I would also consider just (1) 12w7 or (1) 13w7 which will actually take less space than (2) 10w7s.

What ever you choose, make sure you properly compliment with a good set of comps.

A single 10w7 will hit hard. 2 will blow up your car. 1000/1 will work for two 10w7s, but those two subs will require about 2.5cuft of space. It will eat up your trunk for sure. I have a similar setup with front comps and a w7. I disconnected the rears and just have fronts for SQ and easier tuning.

I would say 12W6v2's just because of the sound quality is has compared to a W7. I sell these all day and get tired of the W7 sound.
