Having trouble with NAV, need suggestion

my nav started to act strangely when I drove my car to chicago yesterday. It was doing fine here in Columbus OH (a few minimal errors sometimes) but it started to show false location on state highway. When I tried to restart the nav (using the D/N + MAP button) my location was presented in LAX airport in LA Tried to restart it 3 times with same results before I decided to turn it off. When I got back in OH, it works normally again. I think the problem is the lack of GPS signal because the radar on top left always white colored and the clock always shows 0:00 when I was in Chicago area. Anybody has this kind of experience ?? any suggestions ? I have to admit the nav in my car (or our car?) is not working even half as smooth as the nav in BMW.

Don't use the D/N // MAP to reset it-- just eject the disk and re-insert it. Maybe you need the firmware update from your dealership? Mine acquires the cignal withing 20 seconds if I've run the D/N // MAP reset... maybe it was exceptionally clowdy/bad BAD weather? No idea... Mine's worked perfectly, minus one hiccough which I fixed in two seconds...

PS. As for the BMW's working better- An M5 of a good friend was in the shop twice because the entire electrical system punked out, and their 330xi was in there for the same problem. That ain't smooth to me

When you reset it, it will always show you in LA until it picks up a good signal from the satellites and reaquires it's position.. which can take several minutes.

I remember how confused I was when I did the DN/MAP reset the first time, lol. Just let it sit with a clear signal for a while, and you'll be updated.
