difference between the 500/5 and the 500/1.. X/Y ... x = power, y = channels

I would have to say you need a custom enclosure. I also assume you want to keep some trunk space.

www.4080enclosures.com You will need to rotate the 10w6 clockwise just a little fo get the terminals to fit in the box. It's no big deal.

Sorry, I read it too fast to see you got a 12.

You're going to have to get a custom enclosure if you want it to blend into the trunk. Otherwise, there is always the option of getting/building a standard box that just sits in the trunk.

www.zenclosures.com makes quality boxes at affordable prices, but it doesn't look like he has anything for a 12" right now. You might try contacting him to see if he can help you out with a box.

I have 1 12w6v2 in my coupe with kicker 600/1 amp in a slanted back sealed box
IMHO, it's WAY too much bass for a coupe.
hits hard, but if i were to choose again, I'd go 10w6v2 or some cheaper alpines and call it a day. $100 or under alpines sound just as good as my 12w6v2... at fairly high volumes. 10w6v2 with 4080 would be the ideal choice for me tho.
12w6v2 takes way too much room. not really interested in dropping another few hundred dollars for customized enclosure either.

damn i wish i could hear it before i pay for the install, i was originally gonna go with the 10w6v2 and 4080 box but i found the 12w6 talked down to $235. which is even cheaper than the 10w6 so i went with that.

If I were in your position, I wouldn't get the 12 because it's cheaper. You should get the component that fits your space & music type best. I think in your situation I would just get a 4080 and a good 10" sub.
