10w7 or 10w6??

Hey i have a friend of mine selling me his JL Audio Single 10W7 in Sealed JL ProWedge Enclosure-Almost Brand New - $400. I was planning on getting the 4080box with a 10W6, now ii hear 10W6's are much cleaner but for 400 bucks i think the 10w7 is a good deal. My question is since should i stay with the w6 or take his w7? Wuts the difference? Im not one to really care about making people hear me a block away

Buy the 10W6v2. It has enough bass to satisfy most people. The 10W7 has more power requirement and takes up alot of space. The perfect setup (IMO) is the 10w6v2 in 4080 enclosure.

A 10w7 won't fit in a 4080 box.

There is a real big difference. The bass in the w7 is deep and hits hard. The w6 is more calm and collective but still packs a hard hit. My friend has 2 12inch w7s powered by a 1000/1. When he comes to my house you can hear him at the begining of the street (sounding like Sasquatch is comming)

I think that is why I like the 4080 box.. It hits nice and tight inside of the car but not loud enough that people 2 blocks over can hear it... I want to enjoy the base in my G not blast out everyone around me...

For overall I would go with the W6. The W7 is more of an SQ sub, I like the W6 better.

Is that 2 1000/1 mono amps because from what I understand the power requirements for a 12w7 will need about 1000 watts? So if he had 2, he is underpowering his 2 12w7's.

Your application only needs a w6.

would one 12w6 fit in the coupe trunk comfortably without taking up too much space?

JL W7's will knock the paint off your car!

I've had JL's since the start of my bass addiction. I'm planning on take my system out the maxima sometime and putting it in the G. I'm keeping my coupe clean for now.
