I'm thinking of getting a pair of CL-69 CDT AUDIO 6x9 SUBWOOFERs that I found on e-bay to mount on the rear deck in place of the Blose subs. I am not going to use an enclosure (need the trunk space) so this is an inticing option for me. Any thoughts out there?

Those are OK... if they are on an aftermarket amp, you will find their limits pretty easily.

The best sounding 6x9 woofers I've found are the MB Quart RCE 269 woofer (which I have ordered as raw drivers to not have to pay for the tweet and xover : )
