I have researched it and seen it in other cars. Very nice unit. The bluetooth and Sat Radio are all available for it with a separate piece. I think they are about $100 for each.
It is touch screen as well. This is what I am planning on buying when the time comes.

I have the Kenwood DDX6019 an it's pretty sweet, but I bought the x-tra option (at Mobileone audio) to upgrade at no cost (up to 1 year) and now have decided to get the Pioneer; a friend has one and it's much better than my kenwood IMO... The difference is about $800; I get every penny back on the Kenwood as long as it has no scaratches etc. and I have the original box so I am ready, just waiting for Feb. 1st payroll to come around; I spent too much over the holidays and wont dip savings for the $800.

Things I don't like about the 6019:
-Display not bright enough on sunny days
-Display will not dim enough at night
-No screen saver
-No Bluetooth
-most features are modular options that the Z1 already has built in.
-ipod control menu really sucks compared to the Z1
-Remote controller is huge; the Z1 has a very small remote that can be attached to the steering wheel so you can use it somewhat like the original controls... (I would like to see the original controls integrated but have found no help or info on that yet.)

IMO, the $800 is well worth the upgrade and yes, I know I can go on eBay or to Crutchfield and get these things cheaper, but I don't like tearing into the interior and the guys at Mobile one have done many; they do nice work there, it just costs a little more so I get it all in one place then drive away when it's all done.

Your welcome and it's true about the installation, but consider this;
-you will have to pay to have it installed anywhere (unless you have a real good hook up).
-If you have any trouble with it you can't just run over and complain or exchange it; sometimes that is a big problem with internet purchases and shipping etc; I learned the hard way.
-Considering these things, the difference is not much at some places.

When you buy it from a store, lets say Circuit City...You think the installation is free? They jack the price up alot to cover the installation, but about taking it back, i bought my previous head unit (when i had the celica) after they installed it it had some problems, so i took it back and they fixed it right away, however if the unit itself is fuked up, you gota make sure you got it from a place that accepts returns, no ebay for head units....

Amen!
I always use MobileOne in League City Texas, I get the hook up there, been going for years and would hope they treat every new customer as I have been... They do charge more for the service so you need to negotiate; if you don't, they will get list price or close to it... I've seen people walk in and say "I want XXX" and they get the first price, accept, pay with cash or the good old credit card and the deal is basically done... I guess some people don't care about working for a deal and since the guys get commission, I can't fault them for that.

I got my Z-1 with BT, XM traff, Ipod, Rear view cam, PAC SWI-PS + 55 dollar xm card for 2200. This was from crutchfield who is an authorized pioneer dealer so no warranty problems. There was a coupon from crutch that if you buy 3 pioneer products you get 15% off. Cheapest price I have seen online for the z-1 was 1550 from a non authorized dealer, with this discount the z-1 was 1650. Pioneer is very strict about warrantys and will not give you one if you buy from a non authorized dealer or ebay. For me, the extra 100 is worth every penny.
