I have the 03 OEM nav and wants to upgrade to the Pionner Z1, wut do i need? the Double Din Kit and the Ac controller and the double din bracket with navigation??? am i correct ?? please help me here

 

No bracket needed, just use the one you have.

 

So what purpose does the new bracket serve different from the stock bracket? I mean why even sale it if its not needed. I'm just curious because I bought all my parts except the bracket and I keep thinkin I'll have to do some extra drilling since I didn't get it. What the difference between them

 

ill buy the old navi off of you. can you even install the navi to one that didint come with navi?

 

Anything is possible, but is it worth the time and money to retrofit? Hell no IMO.

The only difference in the brackets is the holes to mount your new head unit or housing. The new bracket has 4 holes in a square pattern whereas the factory bracket holes aren't quite square. As stated above you can still mount an aftermarket head unit on the factory bracket.

I ordered it because at the time nobody knew for sure if you needed it for an '03 coupe with nav. The holes lined up with the holes on my Alpine marked "Nis".

 

from what I've heard, you may have to do some drilling on the factory bracket to get everything to fit...ALSO, I've heard that the stock bracket might not allow for a flush sitting of your new HU. When I got mine installed, I asked the guys at Super Autobacs if I needed and they said the last guy they did the install for had it and everything worked out perfectly. So with that recommendation I got the bracket and I'd say everything worked out really good. When mine was done the had to drill 2 small holes in the original to keeop from using the new bracket... The Double Din and AC controls came from Grubbs Infiniti, they have a fair price for them.
