I believe it's 499 for the 4gb and a 2yr contract. As well as 599 for the 8gb and a 2yr contract.

The iphone will not be a PDA replacement by any means. It looks like it will only run first-party software, meaning you won't be able to load anything beyond what it ships with.

Other things lacking:

No Removable battery
No 3G support
No expandable memory
No over-the-air itunes downloads or wifi syncing

It doesn't really do anything my 2 year old Windows Mobile phone doesn't do (in fact a whole lot less!), but Apple will probably succeed in making people think they need one.

If it runs off on OS X it should have applactions you can load to the Iphone. Proabably a strip down version so it wont take up too much space. I agree with you on the 3g and battery though that is such a turn off.

Why do they have to have partnership with only Cingular? Verizon has the fastest cellular internet service. I would get one but wait for other carriers and 2nd gen to work out bugs in first models.

But trust they will probably improve all of that just as they have with their ipods and other products.

This is just the starter, just wait til it gets out there.
