New system... NEEP HELP!!!
New system... NEEP HELP!!!
Ok, as I've previously posted, I'm upgrading my system. However, I was originally going to replace the HU, but after learning that I will lose my voice Nav, I decided on keeping the stock HU. I'm going with all alpine components and a sony 9 band eq. I'm also installing a Ven4 as well as a line driver (which apparantly boosts the HU's preamp signal).
So my questions are these:
1) I want to completely remove the bose amps. Fortunately, another member posted a diagram of the plugs that go into the amp and what each slot corresponds to. Will removing the amp require me to run a new 'remote on' wire or can I just splice into the existing one?
2) Can I use the existing plug (that connects to the bose amp) to splice into in order to connect my Ven4, or should the connection be made closer to the HU?
3) I need someone to PLEASE describe a flow diagram of how everything would connect, e.g. HU to Ven4 to Line Driver to Amps to Eq to Speakers... Is that right?
4) Is there anything I should know regarding the install that would be problematic or tricky since I'm keeping the HU?
Any help would be greatly appreciated... Thanks a lot.

Re: New system... NEEP HELP!!!
I'm working on a similar install, but not using the EQ (at least until I hear the thing!) and am working on a diagram right now. I'll post it here in a couple of days at the latest.
And I think it's safe to hack right into the wires going into the plugs (there are two) that go into the Bose amp; well, that's what I plan to do anyway. Ideally, you would run higher quality wire from the amps to your new speakers, but I'm not planning on that, either, at least initially. I will use the factory speaker wires from the plug to the speakers.
