what amp to use?

just wondering..whats a good, affordable amp to buy to power a single 10" sub?

hahaha affordable??? r u joking. jl makes some of the most expensive amps out there. depends on how much wattage the sub is u need to power. alpine makes good amps and are resonable if u shop around online. hifonics though not the best amps make decent amps thatll put out a lot of good power. there wattage is a little overrated though. stick to hifonics's xx line (thats their top end line) though the bxi line is decent.

^what kind of woofer do u have...i would bet its a 2ohm sub instead of a 4ohm sub if ur not sure

You can get a JL 500/1 on ebay for $250-300. As long as you stick with the main brands you will be fine.

elemental design nine.2 will give you about 450 watts of clean powr at 4ohms, new with full wanrranty for about 235 bucks

in all honesty, i'm not good with audio stuff and im getting the sub and box for free from a relative. he told me it was a 4ohm...whatever an ohm is i'll ask him what kind of sub it is.
