Avic Z1- FM Antenna Issue

For the Z1 owners...did you use the stock antenna for FM?

I am getting crappy to little reception. I am thinking that the installer did it wrong (Which is my guess) but I wanted to check with you guys.

I had the same problem - no AM or FM reception. They forgot to hook the power antenna lead to the antenna booster in the G. If you use the scoshe harness I think its the blue wire.

As I suspected...installer error.

Somehow he also blew the two lights in my clock which were $15.00 each to replace.

yeah, some intallers dont realize that even though there isnt a power antenna insight, most cars today come with an antenna booster that needs to turn on in order to get proper reception...

as a result, some of the guys dont use the blue powerant lead when doing hte harness, and low nad behold, you dont get good reception...

take it back to him and tell him to hook that wire up to the blue wire on the headunit!

the only other thing could be if he didnt use a good antenna adapter and screwd up that part...
