hey guys how are the installs going with the Z1 in cars that already have bluetooth installed? Is there a way to tie them in together so you can use the same mic? etc

i dont think you can Tie them together, but i think you can keep both function as long as you have the right setup

And how would you do that? I have my Z1 connected, but I have to use the mic from the Z1. If I knew how to open the bluetooth piece up top..I would put the mic in there, but I dont know how to do that yet!

Uh... Aren't those just pop out?? Stick small flat screw driver with cloth cover on it and pop em out.. Hopefully I am right.. Haha.. Cause I was going to do this too but I haven't got the bluetooth unit yet.. Won't there be way to find the wires at the dash for the mic??

Microphone

I've been looking into upgrading that factory mic. Here are a few pictures that someone try to improve the mic and actually open up that mic panel.

How is the AVIC-Z1 microphone working out? Any better than that stock mic? If the Z1 mic uses a 3.5mm mic plug then maybe I can try to use it with this mic when I get mine installed --> Andrea DA-350

I found the old thread regarding the microphone attempt mod
