My wife's 2007 G35x Sedan has the nice new mirror with the compass in it and homelink. My 2005 coupe only has the homelink. Would it work if I got a 2007 mirror with compass and homelink from a dealership and installed it in mine?

In other words, is all the electronics for the homelink and compass contained within the mirror, or is there seperate parts that interface with the nav system or something else?

Don't quote me on this, but I'm almost certain all the electronics for the homelink and compass are in the mirror itself. They don't interface with the nav, to my knowledge.

 

You already have a compass on your dash, why do you want another?

The harnesses are different most-likely. Thats the same mirror thats in the Nissan Maxima's that have the compass option in the mirror.
