Navigation System Error
Navigation System Error
Here's my problem, I pressed the "I Agree" button on my nav system and got the "Disc Error" message on the Infiniti splash screen. I tried ejecting the disc and replacing it, but got the same problem.
This happend to me before and I took it to the dealership, they "reset" the system and got it to work again.
Has this happended to anyone else? Anyone know what causes this?
thanks

Could the DVD be faulty in some way like dirty or cracked? Get the dealer to try another DVD. I've not seen this on either of my Navis.
There is a self diagnosis test that can be done easily. Have him perform this. It will show if there's a fault somewhere in the system. Good luck.........

Re: Navigation System Error
i have the same problem with my navi and i've only had my car for about a week and a half. when i start it up either i get "disc error" or "please wait" and then nothing happens. i've already tried taking the disc out and putting it back in and still the same problem. i've also tried inspecting the disc but it looks perfectly clean and undamaged. i also tried the self diagnosis test and all it tells me is that my "central unit is abnormal." gee! i could've told myself that. anyways, i hope to take it to the dealer tomorrow to get it checked out. they'll probably just "reset" it to "repair" the problem like someone else had posted and then it'll stop working again a few days later. i've gotten so used to using the navi that driving almost sucks without it. and i don't want to have to wait weeks for a new navi from the dealer or deal with their crappy service. i'll keep y'all posted though.

Re: Navigation System Error
I have noticed one day my Nav was giving me the please wait like it was having trouble connectly with a GPS satellite. Hasn't happen since.
